Dear Berlin School Community,

The Berlin Central School District worked with Rensselaer County Department of Health to investigate and conduct contact tracing for possible exposure to a positive COVID-19 case within our Berlin Elementary School.

We have now identified and notified all families whose students may have had close contact with the positive case within the school and on the morning and afternoon bus runs. If you were not contacted there is no further action needed on your part.  BCSD will resume classes as planned for in-person, hybrid and remote learning on November 30.

The health, safety, and well-being of our school community remains our top priority. We are following state and local guidance to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect your health. BCSD’s Buildings and Grounds staff have completed a deep clean of both buildings. The Transportation Department will disinfect any affected buses before their next run.

We also want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of wearing masks, staying six feet apart from others, regularly washing your hands, avoiding mass gatherings and travel to high positivity states, and staying home if you are sick.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Michele Corsey, RN, BCSD Covid Coordinator  (mcorsey@berlincentral.org) or the Rensselaer County Department of Health.
