Berlin CSD is excited to welcome Amie Decker, Rebecca Jones and Justin Covell into their new positions at the Berlin Middle-High School (BMHS).

As BMHS Principal Sullivan’s Secretary, Mrs. Amie Decker is taking on her new role with enthusiasm for her community.  Mrs. Decker is also committed to carrying on the dedication to BCSD of her predecessor, Mrs. Adams. Learn more about Mrs. Decker in her own words.

I attended the College of Saint Rose, where I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts with my concentration being in photography.  I have always appreciated creativity and often drew my inspiration from nature and family.

After graduation I moved back to my family home and got a job locally working at the Berkshire Food Coop.  It was meant to be a transitional job while I figured out my next move, but I ended up being at this organization for 15 years and it has given me many skills that I am able to carry with me.

Throughout my time there, I learned how to interact with all varieties of people, how to manage a large staff, problem solve, run a successful department, create a positive work environment, be efficient and organized, and most importantly be a part of an organization that holds the community at its heart.

After the birth of my son, Weston, my husband and I wanted to buy a house and make the move to Berlin to be closer to his family.  We have lived in this town for three years now and I have been feeling the pull to put my efforts into my new community, and what better place to do that than Berlin Central School District!

I am thrilled to be a part of your community and hope that I can fill the large shoes that Mrs. Adams leaves behind.

In my spare time you can find me in my garden, home improving, exploring local sites and building Lego sets with my four-year-old.

Congratulations on your new position at BMHS Mrs. Decker!

As the new BMHS Librarian, Ms. Rebecca Jones is looking forward to her new position, where she will be working with Berlin Middle and High School students.  Learn more about Ms. Jones in her own words.

I graduated from Watervliet CSD, and then went on to receive my A.A. in Liberal Arts from Hudson Valley. I continued my education at SUNY Fredonia, where I attained two Bachelor’s Degrees, a teaching degree in 7-12 Social Studies and a degree in History.

I am currently enrolled in the Information Science School Library Master’s program at U Albany, which I am due to finish this spring. “I have been a substitute teacher throughout the Capital District, and I worked at a Stewart’s for five years.

I am one of five kids. I have an older brother and I am the oldest in a set of quadruplets (four born on the same day). Of those four, there are three girls and a boy. We all currently live in Watervliet, near Albany. One of my sisters is also looking to work as an elementary teacher.

In addition to reading, I have weekly movie nights with my family, where we take turns surprising each other with a movie to watch. I also love to swim, do Zumba, and have begun to get interested in yoga.

Congratulations on your new position at BMHS Ms. Jones!
