Please read the letter below from Principal Dr. Cathie Allain:
Dear Senior Class Family,
I hope this note finds you and your families well. I have been reaching out to the seniors and have used Schoology as my primary form of communication. However, I have not reached out to their families to check in. This is a time of great confusion and need. Through it all you and your children are coping with the disappointment of missing senior traditions. These traditions are so very important to our Berlin family and I want to acknowledge your loss with them and share my disappointment as well.
This time of year is usually filled with anticipation. By April, we would have already counted the remaining 100 days and shared news of student accomplishments. But the reality is despite the thirteen years of hard work your child has put into his or her education many events which we have looked forward to may not happen. We do not have answers to how some of our traditions will end but we are making every attempt to hold on to them, even if it means looking at new ways to celebrate in the future.
As of today, I can share two pieces of information. As a result of the virus, we have had to cancel the Senior Trip. We are very disappointed it came to this but for the safety of all it is a necessity. I have been able to plan a way to announce the Top Ten in the class and the Valedictorian/Salutatorian. On Thursday, April 16th, the Senior Class and their families will meet in the parking lot at school for a socially distanced announcement of the Top Ten of the Senior Class. Senior families should have their students look at the Senior Class page on Schoology for the details about the event.
We don’t have answers about what the future will hold. I am very proud of our students and families and the way you have responded to this crisis. While business may not be as usual, I know we will do our best to find new solutions to the most important aspects of senior year. Please feel free to contact me through Schoology or email if you have any further concerns.
