Berlin CSD was excited to welcome Justin Covell to the district this past semester. Mr. Covell has been student teaching under the supervision of Mr. Robert Gould, high school Social Studies teacher. Learn more about Mr. Covell in his own words.
What is your educational background?
I graduated from Berlin in 2011. After high school, I graduated from HVCC and SUNY Albany with degrees in Criminal Justice. After working full time and coaching in the Berlin and Brunswick communities I decided I wanted to work with students. I went back to college and attended The College of Saint Rose, I graduate in May with a degree in Adolescent Education with a concentration in Social Studies.
What is your background like – previous jobs?
I have spent the last 9 years working for the Golub Corporation. Along with working at the Golub Corporation, I have been a Substitute Teacher and Coach here at the BCSD since 2015. I have coached at the Modified, JV and Varsity levels for Basketball and Baseball.
What are your interests outside of school?
Outside of school I watch and attend a lot of baseball games whether that be high school, college, or professional. I’m also a big fan of music and attend as many concerts as I can throughout the summer. I spend a lot of time outdoors and reading.
