The Berlin/ New Lebanon swim team has had a great season.  The girls finished 5-4, which is the first winning season in over 13 years.  The boys finished 3-6 but for the first time in over 13 years had enough boys to have two relays and for the first time in 10 years  were able to put at least one person into each event.

Individually, Alex Sotek (9th grade) continued her dominance in the pool. She set two new school records, one in the 200 freestyle and the other in the 100 freestyle.  Alex now holds or is apart of 6 school records.

Matt Kluck (10th grade) in his first year on the swim team hit a sectional time in the 50 Freestyle. Matt will compete at Shenendehowa High School on Feb. 14th.

Returning swimmers really had great years.  Chloe Meyers in the 200 IM/100 Free, Mia Thompson 100 Breaststroke, Amelia McDonald 50 & 100 Freestyle, Sasha Truax 50/100 Freestyle, Abby Seyerlein 500 Free/100 Breaststroke, Winter Exley 50/100 Freestyle, Braydon McMillian 200/100 Freestyle, Liam Buckenroth 200/500 Freestyle (he is also only .5 away from hitting a sectional time).

New swimmers who have really stepped up this year.  Alayna Haviland, Carol Kirimagi, Cody Dunton, Riley Schwartz.

Our last competition is on February 1, at Taconic Hills, it’s called Individuals.  This meet will have every team in our league competing in their strongest events.
