The Berlin Elementary kindergartners decorated trees for the Berkshire Museum’s Festival of Trees for the second year in a row. The Festival of Trees 2019 featured over 100 trees decorated to honor heroes.

The three BES kindergarten trees honored our local community heroes of nurses, doctors, firefighters, police officers and teachers. Students designed ornaments with pictures of themselves dressed as their hero. The trees were then sent over to the museum to be put on display.

On December 16, BES kindergartners were invited to the Berkshire Museum to see their beautiful trees in the museum.

Students also got to explore the museum’s aquarium and reptile experience.

The students were also treated by the museum to two guided tours and time to explore the museum with their teachers and chaperones. The guided portions were an aquarium tour and an amazing reptile experience. The wonderful museum tour guides engaged the students with a hands-on exploration of the aquarium and its reptiles.

The Berkshire Museum tree display will be on until January 5. There are also Saturday evening hours from 5:30 to 7:30 through January 4, when the gallery is lit only by tree light. Tickets: $5, Museum members $3.

You can find more information about the display at the museum’s website.
