Fire safety week continued at the Middle-High School last Thursday. Members from the Berlin, Grafton, Stephentown and Petersburgh fire departments attended a breakfast hosted by Mrs. Hammersmith and FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) members Rebecca and Riley Smith.

After breakfast a schoolwide Fire Safety assembly was held during triple M. The assembly kicked off with an exciting demonstration by the Rensselaer K-9 Sheriff  Arson Investigation team.

Following the demonstration two students from each grade level represented their class in a game of fire safety themed Jeopardy, hosted by the firefighters.  The winning 10th grade class received $250 to go into their class fund.

Thank you to the brave and dedicated firefighters and EMS workers from Grafton, Stephentown, Petersburgh and Berlin for dedicating time to the Berlin Central School District last week.

Remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors each time you set your clocks back in the Fall or forward in the Spring.
