Today, 1 in 5 children in New York struggle with hunger. School breakfast is a great way to ensure kids get the nutrition they need for a healthy start to their day.

On Wednesday, September 25th, students in the Berlin Central School District will celebrate #schoolbreakfastNY because we know morning nutrition is a great way to start the school day.

Students who purchase a full meal on Wednesday, September 25th will have their name entered into a drawing.  Along with the breakfast, students will have the opportunity to try a new menu item, receive a fresh piece of fruit and some fun giveaways.

Come join in the fun, as staff members help serve the students a delicious made from scratch breakfast along with fresh fruits from New York State.

School Breakfast Day was created this year to showcase the “No Student Goes Hungry” initiative — a comprehensive program to provide students of all ages, backgrounds and financial situations access to healthy, locally sourced meals. Nearly 1,400 schools in every corner of New York State will expand their school breakfast offerings to include Breakfast after the Bell (currently offered at the MS/HS during MMM).

Kids who eat “schoolbreakfastNY get the fuel they need to learn, focus and grow up healthy.  At the Berlin Central School District, we are excited to make breakfast part of every school day.  Kids are happy to have breakfast as part of their morning routine, while teachers enjoy calmer classrooms and more focused students.
