Berlin Central School District is providing additional information about the change to the MS/HS start time and transportation/bus run changes. Parents and staff are encouraged to attend any of the community meetings to learn more about the changes and to ask questions. The meetings are scheduled for Thursday, August 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Stephentown Fire Hall and Tuesday, August 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Berlin MS/HS.
Q: What are the changes to the start and end time for the MS/HS and BES?
A: The new start time for the MS/HS is 8:05 a.m. and the end time is 2:50 p.m. The afternoon bus run will be configured to maintain the one-hour guideline. The morning bus route could vary from the afternoon route. Both buildings will share a combined bus run in the afternoon.
The late bus runs for the MS/HS will be at 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Academic late runs for the MS/HS will be at 4:30 p.m., Monday and Wednesday only.
The new start time for BES is 8:50 a.m. and the end time is 3:05 p.m. The morning bus route could vary from the afternoon route. Both buildings will share a combined bus run in the afternoon.

A: Yes, buses will have monitors and cameras. Also, there will be student ambassadors on every bus run (responsible, trained, positive role-model students).

A: No, there will be group seating by grade level.
Q: How will these changes impact athletics?
A: There will be a 5 p.m. bus daily. The Berlin and New Lebanon Athletic directors are currently finalizing the schedules with the bus garage.
Q: Will the changes impact transportation for high school students who are enrolled in a Career and Technical Education Program?
A: No, the transportation service for students enrolled in a Career and Technical Education program will not change.
Q: When will we receive our child’s bus run information?
A: Families will receive bus run information the week of August 20th.
