We hope that the first half of your summer has been relaxing and fun! As we head into August and begin to prepare for the 2019-20 school year there are a few exciting new changes happening in the counseling office that we wanted to share with our students and families.

As most of you already know, Ms. Lazarony retired at the end of last year. This summer, we have welcomed Ms. Caroline Testa as the newest counselor in the counseling office. Ms. Testa is a graduate from The College of Saint Rose, where she earned her masters in School Counseling and is excited to join the Berlin MS/HS Team!

This transition brings new opportunities, ideas, and anticipation for the new school year. Moving forward, we will no longer operate as one MS and one HS counselor, but we will be splitting the alphabet (A-L and J-Z), grades 6-12. This gives us both the opportunity to follow students from sixth grade through high school graduation, develop stronger relationships with students and families, and ultimately we believe this will provide even more support for academic, social and emotional success throughout middle school and high school than before.

Please see our contact information listed below. We look forward to hearing from you beginning August 13th with any of your scheduling questions or concerns. For immediate assistance with any other needs you may contact Mrs. Nash at 518-658-1500 ext. 1070 or the main off ice at ext. 1001.

Also, don’t forget to take a look at the Counseling Center web page for any news and important  dates for both the MS and HS:

We look forward to seeing you all in September!
