With the many weather-related closings this season, the Berlin Central School District must make adjustments to the 2017-18 school calendar. Friday, March 30, will now be a regular full day of instruction.

As required by New York State statute, school districts must provide 180 days of instruction during each school year in order to receive full state aid. While the school district builds additional days into the school calendar to account for snow related closings, the district has used more than the number allotted for the 17-18 school year.

Providing a full day of instruction on March 30 will allow the district to meet the statutory requirement and provide important learning time for our students.

During the 2017-18 school year the Berlin CSD accounted for 6 snow days in the district calendar. As of March 20, 2018 the school district was closed 7 days as a result of the snow.
