Recently, BES 4th grade students held an American Revolution vs. Patriot Debate in class. Prior to the debate students researched the American Revolution, wrote persuasive essays about why colonists should join the patriot or loyalist sides, practiced in class for the debate by making a claim, giving reasons for it and supporting the reasons with evidence. During the mock debate, students wore hats they made in class representing either a loyalist or patriot. See more photos from the debate here.
