I work with the Special Education and English Departments in the high school.  I am one of the special education teachers and consult in English 9, 10 and 11.

What is your education background?

I have my undergraduate degrees in Social Studies Education (Grades 7-12) and Political Science from SUNY Potsdam.  I attended Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh for my graduate degree in Literacy and Special Education.

What is your background like – previous jobs?

Before coming to Berlin, I have been a building substitute as well as a Social Studies teacher.

What are your interests outside of school?

I enjoy horseback riding, hiking and spending time with my two dogs.  I even enjoy these activities in the winter.  I also love to read.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Nothing is impossible with the right amount of help.  I am constantly trying to find the best way to help my students.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?

If you can’t relate the material back to the students, they will not learn it.  Find a way to make a connection to the student.
