BES To Offer Intramurals for 4th & 5th Grade Students

Beginning in September, we are pleased to announce that Berlin Elementary will be offering morning intramurals for boys and girls in grades 4 and 5. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of intramural sports including soccer, tennis, volleyball, and endurance running to name a few.

Last week, students at Berlin Elementary school were visited by some very special officers who talked about the work police dogs do right in their communities. From the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, Officer Geracitano, and Officer Davendonis and his four-legged partner Inferno, a Yellow Lab trained in Accelerant Detection, along with Village of Nassau Police Department Officer Bunney and his four-legged partner Jax, a German Shepard trained in tracking, narcotics and patrol.

Fifth grade students at Berlin Elementary School celebrated the completion of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program conducted by Deputy Jeff Russo on June 5. Special guests included Rensselaer County Executive Kathy Jimino and Rensselaer County Sheriff Patrick Russo.
