On Saturday, April 25, the teachers and staff at the Berlin Central School District hosted a Reverse Parade. It was a warm spring day with waving, beeping, cheering, smiling and most of all the connection the students and staff are missing so much.
Due to the coronavirus precautionary measures the Annual Berlin 1 Mile Fun Run and 5K scheduled for May 2, has been cancelled. However, we want to encourage the BCSD community to get out and get moving so we are converting the 1 Mile Fun Run and 5K to a Virtual Race.
Though we continue to receive guidance from both the Federal and State Education Departments, grading practices remain in the hands of local school districts. As an administrative team, we have met to discuss this issue. At this time it is critical that we are sensitive to ensuring that all students receive the best education possible under the current conditions. To that end, we have created a modified grading policy that addresses our assessment of students at the elementary level and our grading of students at the secondary level. This modification to grading strives to ensure equity for students to the greatest extent possible during these unprecedented times.
