Mrs. Vanderhoef’s Intro to Sports Medicine Class travelled to Hudson Valley Community College to meet the Department Chair and Associate Professors of the Health, Physical Education and Exercise Studies Program.
Colleen Ferris, Jake SIlvestri , and Keith Thomas spent time sharing course option information, descriptions of various programs offered in the department, and discussing the flexibility of taking courses throughout the year to meet the needs of any student.
Students learned about the degree and certificate programs that HVCC offers in Physical education, Exercise Science, Health and Wellness, Fitness Specialist, Worksite Health Promotion and Coaching.
Berlin students also were given a lesson and practice on the principles of ankle taping. Students practiced under the supervision of Mr. Thomas, the college’s athletic trainer.
Berlin alumnus, Dan Bentley, also met with Berlin students. He is enrolled in the Physical Education program.
