IT’S COLD AND FLU SEASON
It’s that time of year. Here are some helpful hints to keep your family healthy.
***Most important, most effective: HAND WASHING*** Your child(ren) should be washing their hands after toileting AND before eating. They should be washing with SOAP and WATER for 20 seconds or as long as it takes to sing the alphabet song.
Cover cough by coughing into their elbow pit.
Disinfecting your homes regularly, especially your counters and areas frequently touched.
Stay well rested and hydrated.
WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME: Runny nose with green discharge, coughing uncontrollably, vomiting, has diarrhea, rash from an unknown cause, or a temp >100 degrees. Keep your child home so he or she can recoup and get plenty of rest. Vomiting, diarrhea and temperature without medication should be resolved for 24 hours BEFORE your child returns to school.
Please notify the health office if your child has tested positive for flu at your doctor’s office.
