On Wednesday May 8th, two staff members from Berlin CSD, Special Education Teacher Michelle Baldwin and Speech Pathologist Heather Riccardi, were honored at Questar III’s first conference on Excellence in Teaching and Learning. Administrators from Questar III districts were asked to nominate teachers and service providers from their schools who demonstrate excellence in education. Both of these staff members are incredibly deserving of this honor.
The conference was also open to students with an interest in the field of education. Senior Jenna Brazie and Junior Demi DeGennaro attended the conference and got to speak with area educators, as well as a few colleges.
The day included two keynote speakers, 2018 state Superintendent of the Year Jason Andrews and 2015 state Teacher of the Year Charles Giglio, as well as panel and roundtable discussions with local educators. Educators and students who attended received a certificate and a copy of the book Today I Made a Difference.
It was a great day that included a celebration of our current outstanding educators, as well as the future educators of our children.
