On Monday, February 6, 2017, one of our science teachers, Mr. Matt Christian, helped facilitate a Questar III BOCES workshop titled “Arrival of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Planning Workshop.”
Mr. Christian, who teaches Physics and Marine Biology at Berlin High School, presented to regional science educators and school leaders to illustrate how he advances student learning using modeling in his classroom. The Questar III BOCES School Improvement Department invited Mr. Christian to present at the workshop because he regularly utilizes project-based and inquiry-based learning in his classroom, which are two components of Next Generation Science Standards.
